Who am I? I am a New Senior
Becoming a senior is not a bad thing. There are so many good things about it, I think we tend to wallow in the age thing, and forget the great things about to come with our golden years. I certainly don't miss getting up at 4:00am to be to work at 6:00am. I had 30 years in with the auto industry, (yes, the one that you now own a part of) and am one of those young retirees. I mentioned before, I am fifty four and now enjoy my days of doing whatever I want. Sort of!
I mentioned earlier that I have two grown boys and each are married with three children of their own. I am very proud of them both, as they have done fairly well considering the economy. For my empty nest syndrome, I have three dogs that run my life. I adore each one and they are all very different considering they are the same breed. They are Bichons, if you don't know, they look like unkempt poodles, except when they come home from the groomers. Are they spoiled? You better believe it! I cook for them. I am always on the look out for new and natural foods and treats. Like my friends at Only Natural Pet Store . But beware, Your little four legged friend can bankrupt you with all the neat stuff out there for them! I also got a big kick out of the the funny door mat that I found at Just look under collars and leashes.

With as unsure as the auto outcome will be, I knew I better think of an alternative to supplement my income. I started scouring the internet for a home based job. What a nightmare. I was bombarded with e-mails from sites I had visited, wanting to make me rich, overnight, for a fee. Well, I may not be the smartest senior out there, but I do know; "If it sounds too good to be true.....".On top of all that, I didn't know what I would be interested in and I wasn't all that savvy about computers. I'm not sure how I came across it but I found a program on how to build your own web site and monetize from it. It would be a slow growth but well worth my time and effort. And now I have nothing but time.
If you notice, at the bottom of my pages, it will say "Powered by Site Build It". I had no idea if I could do this but I thought what else am I going to do. I read the whole spill and liked one thing that I read. If a young girl could do this, than I could too. The mascot for the program is a turtle. And because I am one of the "Show me how" people, I thought this might be the best way for me to go.
Site Build It
has brought me here, today!
So after I decided to try the program, I had to decide what my web site would be about. It had to be something I enjoyed and something I would like learning more about. Also it was stressed to try to find something that was in high demand yet little of. I gave this several days thought, and low and behold the answer came in my AARP magazine. I read an article about how there are so many of us baby boomers, that we would like to continue our independence with just a little extra help. And how there is a need for local people to do a few odd jobs for seniors such as running errands, picking up groceries, taking them to appointments, etc. Now this sounded like something I would like to do and that was practical for me. So I began my journey in late March of this year and so far here I am.
This project has taught me so many things about becoming a senior, about learning how to create a web site, about all the opportunities there are for us seniors, and the unlimited products out there to help make our lives easier and more independent.

I new I didn't want to sell things or deal with inventories and that sort of thing. Site Build It gave me so many ideas of ways to monetize from my site. I liked that, too. I wanted to be able to help seniors locally and globally. I wanted to prove to people like you that as seniors we still have a lot of input into our world today. In building my site, I have learned, along with you, about new ideas for seniors that can keep us happy and alert to our world around us.
I am enjoying my herb garden only because of you. Yes you, because of my research on potted gardens for seniors, I learned of ways to still enjoy my backyard without being over whelmed by it.

Because of this site and research I now text my granddaughter all the time. I also send her pictures as she does me.
I learned some trivia about some senior stars. And how to laugh at ourselves.
So in case you are wondering how I plan to monetize through this site, I have several ways. My first and foremost is through my
Local Services.
Another way is through affiliates including my Site Build It program. However, there are a lot of companies out there that would love to get some advertisement on your site. Just think of all the senior products out there. Be sure and come back to see me as I continue on this process. And if you want to know HOW??? Just check out Site Build It or SBI on the link at the bottom of my page. I will go into more detail about that later.
If you are like me, you have come across that old cliche of; "If I can do it, anyone can." Well, I'm not going to use that here. Why? Because you have to want this bad enough to commit to it often, have a lot of patience, and be willing to challenge yourself. But the self esteem and confidence is humongous once you see the results.
It is truly a slow process for an amateur. But what else do you have to do, today? If you end up like me, it will get easier, faster, and almost take over your every thought. My friend told me she gets tickled on the excitement I show when I tell her about a new page or thought for one. And no, I am not the lady in the video, but play it for some fun, anyway!
